    1. Its nose is still powerful, presenting aromas of spicy butter and dried fruit.
    1. Its palate has a frank and balanced attack. The tannins are still rich and very present. Subtle, elegant, aromatic, it expresses a beautiful freshness for its age, as well as a beautiful length.

Banyuls 1953 – Cave de l'étoile

This old 1953 Banyuls vintage from Cave de l'étoile, made from the best crus of the Catalan terroir, has aged in old oak barrels.

This old 1953 Banyuls vintage is available in 75 cl bottles.

With its unique expertise in aging Banyuls, its range is exceptionally rich.
The vineyard is located at the southern tip of France, where the Pyrenees meet the Mediterranean. It is delimited by the 4 ports of Collioure, Port-Vendres, Banyuls-sur-Mer, and Cerbère. Its surface area is 1800 hectares. It is between sea and mountain that the vines cling to steep slopes on schist soil. They are exclusively worked by hand.

AOC Banyuls Terroir

At the eastern end of the Pyrenees, on the steep slopes of the Côte Vermeille, old vines cultivated on terraces overlook the Mediterranean Sea. Such is the setting of this exceptional terroir steeped in traditions. Banyuls is exclusively produced in the four communes that connect the last Pyrenean foothills to the sea: Collioure, Port-Vendres, Banyuls-sur-Mer, and the border village of Cerbères.

The region benefits from an exceptional microclimate, over 300 days of sunshine per year, frequent and sometimes violent winds, rare rainfall, and a direct maritime influence, which naturally leads to low yields.

Cap Vintage certifies the conformity, origin, and quality of this vintage Banyuls.
