Seven Centuries of Family Viticulture

Few estates can boast such consistency over time: the Domaine Puig-Parahÿ has upheld a family winemaking tradition for nearly 7 centuries. In 1994, Georges Puig inherited the vineyards and continued this unique adventure, with a collection of over 50 Rivesaltes vintages dating back to 1875.

Aspres Terroir: Between Land and Sea

The vines are planted in the valleys of the Aspres, bordering the fertile Roussillon plain. This region, one of the hottest and driest in France, combines highly varied soils — clay-limestone, stony, and schist — with exceptional sunshine that gives the wines all their power and nobility.

Grape Varieties and Winemaking

The diversity of terroirs allows for a varied selection of grape varieties: Grenache Noir, Gris, and Blanc, Muscat of Alexandria, Muscat à Petits Grains, Carignan, Macabeu, and Mourvèdre. Yields, naturally low due to the aging of the vines, guarantee concentration and complexity. The estate is gradually replanting, also incorporating Syrah.

AOC Rivesaltes: An Exceptional Appellation

The vintage Rivesaltes from Domaine Puig-Parahÿ are aged as Vin Doux Naturel according to the strict rules of the AOC Rivesaltes. Each vintage expresses the character of a year and a unique terroir — cellar-worthy wines for enthusiasts and collectors.
