What is Floc de Gascogne?

Floc de Gascogne is a fortified wine with a controlled designation of origin (AOC) produced in the Armagnac region, in Gers. It is made by blending fresh grape must (unfermented grape juice) with Armagnac, which stops fermentation and preserves the natural sweetness of the grapes. Its alcohol content is between 16° and 18°.

White and Rosé Floc de Gascogne: what are the differences?

  • White Floc de Gascogne – Fruity, fresh, and delicate, it pairs wonderfully with foie gras, sheep's cheese, or as a simple aperitif.
  • Rosé Floc de Gascogne – Rich and fragrant, it perfectly complements red fruit desserts, ice creams, or strawberry tarts.

How to serve Floc de Gascogne?

Floc de Gascogne is ideally served chilled, between 6 and 8°C, in a wine glass or flute. It can be enjoyed as an aperitif, with foie gras, or as a dessert. Avoid serving it with ice cubes, as they would dilute its aromas.

Is Floc de Gascogne an Armagnac?

No, Floc de Gascogne is not an Armagnac. It is a fortified wine made from fresh grape must fortified with Armagnac. Armagnac is the spirit that goes into its composition, but Floc is a category in its own right with its own AOC.

How long does Floc de Gascogne keep?

An unopened bottle can be kept for several years in a cool, dark place. Once opened, it is recommended to consume it within 2 to 3 weeks, keeping it refrigerated.
