Lannepax, at the heart of Bas Armagnac
Maison Ferté de Partenay is located in Lannepax, a small Gers bastide in the heart of Bas Armagnac. It selects and ages the best eaux-de-vie in the region, building up over decades one of the finest collections of vintage Armagnacs in Gascony — with treasures dating back two centuries.
The oak barrel: soul of Armagnac
As soon as it is distilled, Armagnac is stored in 400-liter oak barrels — called "pièces" — sourced from the forests of Gascony and Limousin. The eau-de-vie gradually enriches itself with woody scents, develops increasingly complex aromas, and takes on an amber, then mahogany, color over the years.
Aging mastered by the cellar master
The aging process is rigorously monitored by the cellar master, who controls the extraction of tannic and aromatic compounds, the evolution of wood-derived aromas, gradual evaporation, and the natural decrease in alcohol content. This constant care guarantees the richness and power of Ferté de Partenay Armagnacs at maturity.
The CAP Vintage selection
