Banyuls 1955 – Cave de l'étoile

This old Banyuls 1956 vintage from Cave de l'étoile, made from the best crus of the Catalan terroir, has aged in old oak barrels.

This old Banyuls 1955 vintage is available in a 75 cl bottle.

With unique expertise in aging Banyuls, its range is exceptionally rich.
The vineyard is located at the southern tip of France, where the Pyrenees meet the Mediterranean. It is delimited by the 4 ports of Collioure, Port-Vendres, Banyuls-sur-Mer, and Cerbère. Its area is 1800 hectares. It is between the sea and the mountains that the vines cling to the steep slopes on schist soil. They are exclusively hand-tended.

Terroir of AOC Banyuls

At the eastern end of the Pyrenees, on the steep slopes of the Côte Vermeille, old vines cultivated on terraces overlook the Mediterranean Sea. This is the setting for this exceptional terroir steeped in traditions. Banyuls is exclusively produced in the four communes that join the last Pyrenean foothills to the sea: Collioure, Port-Vendres, Banyuls-sur-Mer, and the border village of Cerbères.

The region benefits from an exceptional microclimate, with over 300 days of sunshine annually, frequent sometimes violent winds, rare rainfall, and direct maritime influence, which naturally leads to low yields.

Cap Vintage certifies the conformity, origin, and quality of this vintage Banyuls.
