The SEMPÉ house is one of the best-known Armagnac trading houses. It was founded in 1934 by Abel SEMPÉ, a tireless Gascon dedicated to his country and region. He was successively a recognized Resistance fighter within the Armagnac battalion, then a Senator for Gers for many years. Throughout his life, he remained closely attached to the SEMPÉ brand. He developed it worldwide from the 1950s with superb, ever more innovative presentations. Since his passing, SEMPÉ continues to reflect his image. A dynamic, innovative brand that is still accessible to the greatest number, while respecting the ancestral know-how that Armagnac embodies.
Today, SEMPÉ is part of a Gascon wine group that perpetuates and strengthens Abel's brand.
