Darroze Armagnac 1971

This old vintage Darroze Armagnac 1971, from the best crus, has aged in old oak barrels.

Grape variety: 100% Baco

For more than 20 years, Marc Darroze has dedicated a lot of energy and passion to Armagnac. Through contact with winegrowers, distillers, coopers and Gascon breeders, Marc Darroze has been able to appreciate all the diversity and nobility of our profession.

In the family home, his Armagnac aging methods have become more precise and refined, and his expertise is now complete.

This vintage Darroze Armagnac 1971 is offered in a 70 cl bottle in a wooden box.

A lover of his South-West and its ancient tradition, this cult chef of Landes gastronomy initiated his son Francis to the culinary arts, great wines, and fine Gascon brandies. By cultivating this taste for tradition and authenticity, Francis Darroze, while exploring with his father, a knowledgeable and demanding oenophile, this famous terroir of Bas-Armagnac and tasting hidden treasures deep in small estates, became a true discoverer of owner-produced Armagnacs.

The first discoveries date back to the 1950s & 60s
, then intensified from the 1970s with the construction of a chai specifically dedicated to aging.

His son Marc, a trained oenologist, followed in his footsteps in 1996. Both complementary, both "treasure hunters", as Martine Nouet called them in her book "Eaux-de-vie: le guide", they have traveled the lands of Armagnac all these years in search of this liquid gold that they offer you.

Treasure hunters first out of taste, but also to satisfy a loyal clientele in search of quality brandies. Together they were discoverers of Armagnacs. Today, Marc Darroze alone oversees the company, Francis Darroze having taken a well-deserved active retirement. He continues the work of guardian, sometimes antique dealer, initiated by his father to make these treasures accessible to us.
