Armagnac 1974 Darroze

This old vintage 1974 Darroze Armagnac, from the best crus, has aged in old oak barrels.

Grape variety: 100% Ugni Blanc

For over 20 years, Marc Darroze has dedicated a lot of energy and passion to Armagnac. In contact with winegrowers, distillers, coopers, and Gascon breeders, Marc Darroze has been able to understand all the diversity and nobility of our profession.

In the family home, the aging of his Armagnacs has become more precise, refined, and his expertise is now complete.

This vintage 1974 Darroze Armagnac is offered in a 70 cl bottle in a wooden box.

A lover of his South-West and its centuries-old tradition, this cult chef of Landes gastronomy initiated his son Francis to culinary art, fine wines, and exquisite Gascon brandies. It is by cultivating this taste for tradition and authenticity that Francis Darroze, exploring with his father, an experienced and demanding oenophile, this famous terroir of Bas-Armagnac and tasting treasures hidden deep in small estates, became a true discoverer of owner-produced Armagnacs.

The first discoveries date back to the 1950s & 60s
, then intensified from the 1970s with the construction of a cellar specifically dedicated to aging.

His son Marc, an oenologist by training, followed in his footsteps in 1996. Both complementary, both “treasure hunters”, as Martine Nouet called them in her book “Eaux-de-vie: le guide”, they have traveled the lands of Armagnac all these years in search of this liquid gold that they offer you.

Treasure hunters first out of taste, but also to satisfy a loyal clientele seeking quality brandies, they were together discoverers of Armagnacs. Today, Marc Darroze alone oversees the company, Francis Darroze having taken a well-deserved active retirement. He continues the work of guardian, sometimes initiated by his father as an enlightened antique dealer, to make these treasures accessible to us.
