For more than 20 years, Marc Darroze has dedicated a lot of energy and passion to Armagnac. Through contact with winegrowers, distillers, coopers, and Gascon breeders, Marc Darroze has been able to grasp all the diversity and nobility of our profession. In the family home, the aging of his Armagnacs has become precise, refined, and his expertise is now complete.
This vintage Armagnac Darroze 1974 is offered in a 70 cl bottle in a wooden box. A lover of his South-West and its age-old tradition, this cult chef of Landes gastronomy initiated his son Francis to the culinary arts, to great wines, to fine Gascon brandies. It was by cultivating this taste for tradition and authenticity that Francis Darroze, by traveling with his father, an informed and demanding oenophile, through this famous terroir of Bas-Armagnac and tasting treasures hidden deep within small estates, became a true discoverer of owner-produced Armagnacs.
His son Marc, a trained oenologist, followed in his footsteps in 1996. Both complementary, both "treasure hunters", as Martine Nouet called them in her book "Eaux-de-vie: le guide", they have traveled the lands of Armagnac all these years in search of this liquid gold that they offer you.
Treasure hunters first out of taste, but also to satisfy a loyal clientele looking for quality brandies, they were together discoverers of Armagnacs. Today, Marc Darroze alone oversees the business, Francis Darroze having taken a well-deserved active retirement. He continues the work of guardian, sometimes antique dealer initiated by his father to make these treasures accessible to us.
