For over 20 years, Marc Darroze has dedicated a great deal of energy and passion to Armagnac. Through contact with winegrowers, distillers, coopers, and Gascon breeders, Marc Darroze has been able to appreciate the full diversity and nobility of our profession.
In the family home, the aging of his Armagnacs has become more precise and refined, and his expertise is now complete.
This vintage 1975 Darroze Armagnac is offered in a 70 cl bottle in a cardboard case.
A lover of his South-West and its age-old tradition, this cult chef of Landes gastronomy initiated his son Francis to the culinary arts, fine wines, and fine Gascon brandies. It was by cultivating this taste for tradition and authenticity that Francis Darroze, by touring this famous terroir of Bas-Armagnac with his father, an informed and demanding oenophile, and by tasting treasures hidden in the depths of small estates, became a true discoverer of owner-produced Armagnacs.
The first discoveries date from the 1950s & 60s, then intensified from the 1970s with the construction of a cellar specifically dedicated to aging.
His son Marc, an oenologist by training, followed in his footsteps in 1996. Both complementary, both "treasure hunters", as Martine Nouet called them in her book "Eaux-de-vie: le guide", they have traveled the lands of Armagnac for all these years in search of this liquid gold that they offer you.
Treasure hunters first out of taste, but also to satisfy a loyal clientele looking for quality brandies, they were together discoverers of Armagnacs. Today, Marc Darroze alone oversees the company, Francis Darroze having taken a well-deserved active retirement. He continues the work of guardian, sometimes antique dealer initiated by his father to make these treasures accessible to us.
