This vintage 1978 Armagnac is offered in a Cognac bottle and its wooden Arche case. The first négociant éleveur was Léonce LAFONTAN (1865-1939). Originally a horse merchant, in addition to being a winegrower, he became a Négociant - Eleveur in 1897 by founding Maison LAFONTAN. His primary activity, and his knowledge of the region, allowed him to make a meticulous selection for the purchase of old Armagnacs from the best crus. Thus, Maison LAFONTAN was one of the pioneers in selling bottled Armagnac. It was in 1904 that he created the "VEUVE LAFONTAN & ses Enfants" range in homage to his deceased mother.
