Armagnac 1985 Darroze

This old vintage 1985 Darroze Armagnac, from the best crus, has aged in old oak barrels.

For over 20 years, Marc Darroze has dedicated much energy and passion to Armagnac. Through contact with winegrowers, distillers, coopers, and Gascon breeders, Marc Darroze has been able to grasp the full diversity and nobility of our profession.

In the family home, the aging processes of his Armagnacs have been refined and perfected, and his expertise is now complete.

This vintage 1985 Darroze Armagnac is offered in a 70 cl bottle in a gift box.

A lover of his South-West and its ancient tradition, this cult chef of Landes gastronomy initiated his son Francis to the culinary art, fine wines, and exquisite Gascon eaux-de-vie. It was by cultivating this taste for tradition and authenticity that Francis Darroze, while exploring this famous Bas-Armagnac terroir with his father, an informed and demanding oenophile, and tasting hidden treasures in the depths of small estates, became a true scout of owner-produced Armagnacs.

The first discoveries date back to the 1950s & 60s, then intensified from the 1970s with the construction of a specific cellar dedicated to aging.

His son Marc, an oenologist by training, followed in his footsteps in 1996. Both complementary, both "treasure hunters," as Martine Nouet dubbed them in her book "Eaux-de-vie: le guide," they have crisscrossed the Armagnac lands all these years in search of this liquid gold that they offer you.

Treasure hunters first by taste, but also to satisfy a loyal clientele looking for quality eaux-de-vie, they were together discoverers of Armagnacs. Today, Marc Darroze alone oversees the company, Francis Darroze having taken a well-deserved active retirement. He continues the work of guardian, sometimes of initiated antique dealer, started by his father to make these treasures accessible to us.
