Harvested in 1989 from the sables fauves (tawny sands) of Bas-Armagnac, this vintage has aged for 37 years in new 420-liter oak barrels, crafted by Gilles Bartholomo, one of the last artisan coopers in the region, located in Le Frêche (Landes). Placed in new barrels immediately after distillation, the eau-de-vie is stirred, aerated, and moved over the years in the earthen-floored cellar. Bottled at natural cellar strength — 47.1% ABV cask strength. Offered in a 70cl Oslo bottle.

Tasting Profile

Color: Bright and clear.
Nose: Elegant, dominated by rancio, with subtle mentholated and peppery aromas.
Palate: Frank attack, harmonious tannins, notes of prunes — structured and complex.
Finish: Good length. A great Bas-Armagnac.
