A lover of his South-West and its centuries-old tradition, this cult chef of Landes gastronomy initiated his son Francis to the culinary art, great wines, and fine Gascon brandies. It was by cultivating this taste for tradition, for authenticity, that Francis Darroze, by traveling with his father, an experienced and demanding oenophile, through this famous Bas-Armagnac terroir and by tasting hidden treasures in the depths of small estates, became a true scout of owner Armagnacs.
The first discoveries date back to the 1950s and 60s, then intensified from the 1970s with the construction of a cellar specifically dedicated to aging.
His son Marc, an oenologist by training, followed in his footsteps in 1996. Both complementary, both “treasure hunters,” as Martine Nouet called them in her book “Eaux-de-vie: le guide,” they have crisscrossed the lands of Armagnac for all these years in search of this liquid gold that they offer you.
