Armagnac 1992 Darroze

A lover of his South-West and its age-old tradition, this cult chef of Landes gastronomy initiated his son Francis to culinary art, fine wines, and exquisite Gascon brandies. It was by cultivating this taste for tradition, for authenticity, that Francis Darroze, by traversing this famous Bas-Armagnac terroir with his father, an informed and demanding oenophile, and by tasting hidden treasures deep within small estates, became a true scout for proprietor Armagnacs.

The first discoveries date back to the 1950s & 60s, then intensified from the 1970s with the construction of a cellar specifically dedicated to aging.

His son Marc Darroze, an oenologist by training, followed in his footsteps in 1996. Both complementary, both "treasure hunters," as Martine Nouet called them in her book "Eaux-de-vie: le guide," they have crisscrossed the Armagnac lands for all these years in search of this liquid gold that they offer you.

Treasure hunters first by taste, but also to satisfy a loyal clientele looking for quality brandies, they were together discoverers of Armagnacs. Today, Marc Darroze alone oversees the company, Francis Darroze having taken a well-deserved active retirement. He continues the work of guardian, sometimes initiated by his father, to make these treasures accessible to us.
