Armagnac 1996 Domaine de Charron – Cask Strength 48.2% | Sables Fauves | Oslo Bottle
The vines of Domaine de Charron flourish on the sables fauves (tawny sands) of Bas-Armagnac — these sandy, clay-siliceous soils, colored by iron oxides, born from the meeting of land and sea which only retreated at the end of the Tertiary period. An exceptional terroir that shapes the unique personality of each vintage. As soon as it leaves the still, the eau-de-vie is aged in new 420-liter oak barrels, crafted by Gilles Bartholomo, one of the last artisan coopers in the region in Le Frêche (Landes). Braised, aerated, and moved over the years, this 1996 vintage is bottled at its natural cellar strength — 48.2% cask strength — after 30 years of aging. Offered in a 70cl Oslo bottle.
