Armagnac Darroze 2006
This old vintage 2006 Darroze Armagnac, made from the best crus, has aged in old oak barrels. The nose is light, fine, and pleasant.
For over 20 years, Marc Darroze has dedicated a lot of energy and passion to Armagnac. Through his contact with winemakers, distillers, coopers, and Gascon breeders, Marc Darroze has been able to appreciate the full diversity and nobility of his profession.
In the family home, the aging of his Armagnacs has become more precise and refined, and his expertise is now complete.
This vintage Darroze 2006 Armagnac is offered in a 70 cl bottle in a cardboard case.
A lover of his South-West and its ancient tradition, this cult chef of Gascon gastronomy introduced his son Francis to the culinary arts, great wines, and fine Gascon brandies. It was by cultivating this taste for tradition and authenticity that Francis Darroze, exploring this famous Bas-Armagnac terroir with his father, an astute and demanding oenologist, and tasting treasures hidden deep within small estates, became a true discoverer of owner-produced Armagnacs.
The first discoveries date back to the 1950s & 60s, then intensified from the 1970s with the construction of a cellar specifically dedicated to aging.
His son Marc Darroze, an oenologist by training, followed in his footsteps in 1996. Both complementary, both "treasure hunters," as Martine Nouet called them in her book "Eaux-de-vie: le guide," they have traversed the lands of Armagnac all these years in search of this liquid gold that they offer you.
Treasure hunters first out of taste, but also to satisfy a loyal clientele in search of quality brandies, they were together discoverers of Armagnacs. Today, Marc Darroze alone oversees the company, with Francis Darroze having taken a well-deserved active retirement. He continues the work of guardian, sometimes of initiated antique dealer, begun by his father to make these treasures accessible to us.
