Armagnac Darroze 2009
This old vintage Armagnac Darroze 2009, made from the best crus, has aged in old oak barrels. The nose is light, fine, and pleasant.
For over 20 years, Marc Darroze has dedicated a lot of energy and passion to Armagnac. Through contact with winegrowers, distillers, coopers, and Gascon breeders, Marc Darroze has been able to appreciate the diversity and nobility of our profession.
In the family home, the ageing of his Armagnacs has become more precise, refined, and his expertise is now total.
This vintage Armagnac Darroze 2009 is offered in a 70 cl bottle in a cardboard box.
A lover of his South-West region and its age-old tradition, this cult chef of Landes gastronomy initiated his son Francis to the culinary arts, great wines, and fine Gascon brandies. It was by cultivating this taste for tradition, for authenticity, that Francis Darroze, while travelling with his father, an experienced and demanding oenophile, through this famous Bas-Armagnac terroir and tasting treasures hidden deep in small estates, became a true discoverer of Armagnacs from individual producers.
The first discoveries date back to the 1950s and 60s, then intensified from the 1970s with the construction of a cellar specifically dedicated to ageing.
His son Marc Darroze, a trained oenologist, followed in his footsteps in 1996. Both complementary, both "treasure hunters," as Martine Nouet called them in her book "Eaux-de-vie: le guide," they have travelled the Armagnac lands for all these years in search of this liquid gold that they offer you.
Treasure hunters first out of taste, but also to satisfy a loyal clientele looking for quality brandies, they were together discoverers of Armagnacs. Today, Marc Darroze oversees the company alone, Francis Darroze having taken a well-deserved active retirement. He continues the work of guardian, sometimes antique dealer, initiated by his father to make these treasures accessible to us.
