The Darroze selection, Les Grands Assemblages
For over 20 years, Marc Darroze has dedicated a lot of energy and passion to Armagnac. In contact with winegrowers, distillers, coopers, and Gascon breeders, Marc Darroze has been able to grasp the full diversity and nobility of our profession.
In the family home, the aging of his Armagnacs has become precise and refined, and his expertise is now complete.
This 20-year-old Darroze Armagnac is offered in a 70 cl bottle in a cardboard case.
A lover of his South-West and its age-old tradition, this cult chef of Landes gastronomy initiated his son Francis into the culinary arts, great wines, and fine Gascon eaux-de-vie. It was by cultivating this taste for tradition and authenticity, that Francis Darroze, by touring with his father, a connoisseur and demanding oenophile, this famous terroir of Bas-Armagnac and by tasting treasures hidden deep within small estates, became a true discoverer of propriétaire Armagnacs.
The first discoveries date back to the 1950s & 60s, then intensified from the 1970s with the construction of a cellar specifically dedicated to aging.
His son Marc, an oenologist by training, followed in his footsteps in 1996. Both complementary, both "treasure hunters", as Martine Nouet called them in her book "Eaux-de-vie: le guide", they have traveled the lands of Armagnac for all these years in search of this liquid gold that they offer you.
Treasure hunters first by taste, but also to satisfy a loyal clientele looking for quality eaux-de-vie, together they were discoverers of Armagnacs. Today, Marc Darroze alone oversees the business, Francis Darroze having taken a well-deserved active retirement. He continues the work of guardian, sometimes antique dealer, initiated by his father to make these treasures accessible to us.
