Armagnac Darroze 1964

A lover of his South-West and its ancient tradition, this cult chef of Gascon gastronomy initiated his son Francis to the culinary arts, great wines, and fine Gascon brandies. It is by cultivating this taste for tradition and authenticity that Francis Darroze, by exploring with his father, a knowledgeable and demanding oenophile, this famous terroir of Bas-Armagnac and tasting treasures hidden deep within small estates, became a true discoverer of owner-produced Armagnacs.

The first discoveries date back to the 1950s & 60s, then intensified from the 1970s with the construction of a cellar specifically dedicated to aging.

His son Marc, an oenologist by training, followed in his footsteps in 1996. Both complementary, both "treasure hunters", as Martine Nouet called them in her book "Eaux-de-vie: le guide", they have traveled the lands of Armagnac for all these years in search of this liquid gold that they offer you.

Treasure hunters first out of taste, but also to satisfy a loyal clientele looking for quality brandies, they were together discoverers of Armagnacs. Today, Marc Darroze alone oversees the company, Francis Darroze having taken a well-deserved active retirement. He continues the work of guardian, sometimes of initiated antique dealer by his father, to make these treasures accessible to us.
