TASTING NOTES

The Folle Blanche grape variety is the historic grape of Armagnac. For a long time (before the phylloxera crisis), it was the only grape variety planted in Gascony, then known as the "Piquepoult du pays." It produces very fine and delicate Armagnacs.
The nose is very intense, very fruity (grapefruit, plum, fresh grape) and spicy (Sichuan pepper).
On the palate, this Blanche is energetic, linear, with aromas of fresh pineapple and mirabelle plum with vegetal notes.
It can be used in a Dry Martini, replacing gin.

AUTHENTICITY

Three emblematic Armagnac grape varieties are used to highlight the authentic cultural heritage of this Gascon spirit.
Similarly, the continuous traditional distillation so particular to Armagnac has also been favored.

RESPECT

After being stored for several months away from wood, to preserve and enhance its character, each spirit complies with the specific requirements of the “Blanche Armagnac” Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée. During this aging period, a slight reduction is carried out to bring the alcoholic strength to around 49%.

PLEASURE

These three cuvées have been conceived to bring surprise and pleasure, allowing everyone to imagine their own particular pairing.

In the family home, the aging of its Armagnacs has become more precise, refined, and its expertise is now complete.

A lover of his South-West and its age-old tradition, this cult chef of Landes gastronomy introduced his son Francis to the culinary arts, great wines, and fine Gascon brandies. By cultivating this taste for tradition, for authenticity, Francis Darroze, while exploring this famous terroir of Bas-Armagnac with his father, an informed and demanding oenophile, and tasting treasures hidden deep within small estates, became a true discoverer of owner-produced Armagnacs.

The first discoveries date back to the 1950s & 60s, then intensified from the 1970s with the construction of a cellar specifically dedicated to aging.

His son Marc, an oenologist by training, followed in his footsteps in 1996. Both complementary, both "treasure hunters," as Martine Nouet called them in her book "Eaux-de-vie: le guide," they have crisscrossed the lands of Armagnac for all these years in search of this liquid gold that they offer you.

Treasure hunters first out of taste, but also to satisfy a loyal clientele looking for quality brandies, they were together discoverers of Armagnacs. Today, Marc Darroze alone oversees the company, Francis Darroze having taken a well-deserved active retirement. He continues the work of guardian, sometimes of initiated antique dealer, started by his father to make these treasures accessible to us.

CAP Vintage is proud to offer you this excellent range of Armagnac Darroze and to accompany you on this discovery through this range and around Armagnac. Cap Vintage certifies the conformity, origin, and quality of this vintage Armagnac.
