For over 20 years, Marc Darroze has dedicated a lot of energy and passion to Armagnac. Through his interactions with winegrowers, distillers, coopers, and Gascon breeders, Marc Darroze has been able to grasp the full diversity and nobility of our profession.
In the family home, the aging processes for his Armagnacs have been refined, and his expertise is now complete.
This vintage Armagnac Darroze 2007 is available in a 70 cl bottle in a cardboard case.
A lover of his South-West and its age-old tradition, this cult chef of Landes gastronomy initiated his son Francis to the culinary arts, fine wines, and exquisite Gascon eaux-de-vie. It is by cultivating this taste for tradition and authenticity that Francis Darroze, by traveling with his father, an experienced and demanding oenophile, through this famous Bas-Armagnac terroir and by tasting hidden treasures in the depths of small estates, became a true discoverer of propriétaire Armagnacs.
The first discoveries date back to the 1950s & 60s, then intensified from the 1970s with the construction of a cellar specifically dedicated to aging.
His son Marc Darroze, an oenologist by training, followed in his footsteps in 1996. Both complementary, both "treasure hunters," as Martine Nouet called them in her book "Eaux-de-vie: le guide," they have crisscrossed the lands of Armagnac all these years in search of this liquid gold that they offer you.
Treasure hunters first out of taste, but also to satisfy a loyal clientele seeking quality eaux-de-vie, they were together discoverers of Armagnacs. Today, Marc Darroze alone oversees the company, Francis Darroze having taken a well-deserved active retirement. He continues the work of guardian, sometimes of initiated antique dealer, started by his father to make these treasures accessible to us.
