For this 50-year-old Armagnac Darroze blend, the age of reason. Depending on the freshness and balance of Armagnacs of this age, it is sometimes time after 50 years to stop the aging in barrels. However, the use of barrels whose tannins have been washed out by many years in contact with the eau-de-vie is still possible. Roasting, chocolate, and leather aromas are characteristic of these aged eaux-de-vie.

For over 20 years, Marc Darroze has dedicated a lot of energy and passion to Armagnac. Through contact with winemakers, distillers, coopers, and Gascon breeders, Marc Darroze has been able to understand the diversity and nobility of our profession.
In the family home, the aging of his Armagnacs has become more precise and refined, and his expertise is now complete.

A lover of his South-West and its ancient tradition, this cult chef of Landes gastronomy initiated his son Francis to the culinary arts, great wines, and fine Gascon eaux-de-vie. It was by cultivating this taste for tradition and authenticity that Francis Darroze, traveling with his father, an experienced and demanding oenophile, through this famous terroir of Bas-Armagnac and tasting hidden treasures in the depths of small estates, became a true discoverer of owner-produced Armagnacs.
The first discoveries date back to the 1950s & 60s, then intensified from the 1970s with the construction of a cellar specifically dedicated to aging.
His son Marc, an oenologist by training, followed in his footsteps in 1996. Both complementary, both "treasure hunters", as Martine Nouet called them in her book "Eaux-de-vie: le guide", they have traveled the lands of Armagnac for all these years in search of this liquid gold that they offer you.
Treasure hunters first of all by taste, but also to satisfy a loyal clientele looking for quality eaux-de-vie, they were together discoverers of Armagnacs. Today, Marc Darroze alone oversees the business, Francis Darroze having taken a well-deserved active retirement. He continues the work of guardian, sometimes of initiated antique dealer by his father, to make these treasures accessible to us.
