The Darroze Selection, Les Grands Assemblages
For over 20 years, Marc Darroze has dedicated a lot of energy and passion to Armagnac. Through contact with winegrowers, distillers, coopers and Gascon breeders, Marc Darroze has been able to appreciate all the diversity and nobility of our profession.
In the family home, the aging processes of his Armagnacs have been refined and perfected, and his expertise is now complete.
This 20-year-old Darroze Armagnac is offered in a 70 cl bottle in a wooden box.
A lover of his South-West and its ancient tradition, this cult chef of Gascon gastronomy initiated his son Francis to the culinary art, great wines, and fine Gascon eaux-de-vie. It is by cultivating this taste for tradition and authenticity that Francis Darroze, while traveling with his father, a discerning and demanding oenophile, through this famous terroir of Bas-Armagnac and tasting treasures hidden deep within small estates, became a true discoverer of propriétaire Armagnacs.
The first discoveries date back to the 1950s & 60s, then intensified from the 1970s with the construction of a cellar specifically dedicated to aging.
His son Marc, an oenologist by training, followed in his footsteps in 1996. Both complementary, both "treasure hunters," as Martine Nouet called them in her book "Eaux-de-vie: le guide," they have crisscrossed the lands of Armagnac for all these years in search of this liquid gold that they offer you.
Treasure hunters first out of taste, but also to satisfy a loyal clientele in search of quality eaux-de-vie, they were together discoverers of Armagnacs. Today, Marc Darroze alone oversees the company, Francis Darroze having taken a well-deserved active retirement. He continues the work of guardian, sometimes of initiated antique dealer, begun by his father to make these treasures accessible to us.
