TASTING NOTES

For this 40-year-old Darroze Armagnac blend, the Armagnac style is definitively asserted. The quality of the oak wood used is very important, because the proper use of a quality barrel will bring complexity and finesse to the Armagnac, elements that can definitely be judged and appreciated after 40 years in contact with wood.

Les Grands Assemblages Armagnac 40 ans Darroze

The Darroze selection, Les Grands Assemblages

For over 20 years, Marc Darroze has dedicated much energy and passion to Armagnac. Through contact with winegrowers, distillers, coopers, and Gascon breeders, Marc Darroze has been able to grasp all the diversity and nobility of our profession.

In the family home, the maturation of his Armagnacs has become more precise, refined, and his expertise is now complete.

This 40-year-old Darroze Armagnac is available in a 70 cl bottle in a wooden box.

A lover of his South-West and its ancient tradition, this cult chef of Landes gastronomy initiated his son Francis into culinary art, fine wines, and fine Gascon brandies. It is by cultivating this taste for tradition and authenticity that Francis Darroze, while travelling with his father, an informed and demanding oenophile, through this famous terroir of Bas-Armagnac and tasting hidden treasures deep within small estates, became a true discoverer of propriétaire Armagnacs.

The first discoveries date back to the 1950s & 60s
, then intensified from the 1970s with the construction of a cellar specifically dedicated to aging.

His son Marc, a trained oenologist, followed in his footsteps in 1996. Both complementary, both "treasure hunters," as Martine Nouet called them in her book "Eaux-de-vie: le guide," they have traversed the lands of Armagnac all these years in search of this liquid gold that they offer you.

Treasure hunters first by taste, but also to satisfy a loyal clientele looking for quality brandies, they were together discoverers of Armagnacs. Today, Marc Darroze alone oversees the business, Francis Darroze having taken a well-deserved active retirement. He continues the work of guardian, sometimes of an initiated antique dealer, begun by his father to make these treasures accessible to us.

CAP Vintage is proud to offer you this excellent range of Armagnac Darroze and to accompany you in this discovery through this range and around Armagnac. Cap Vintage certifies the conformity, origin, and quality of this vintage Armagnac.
