TASTING NOTES

For this 50-year-old Darroze Armagnac blend, the age of reason. Depending on the freshness and balance of Armagnacs of this age, it is sometimes time after 50 years to stop the aging in barrels. However, the use of barrels whose tannins have been washed out
by many years of contact with the eau-de-vie is still possible. The aromas of roasting, chocolate, and leather are characteristic of these very old brandies.

Les Grands Assemblages Armagnac 50 ans Darroze

This 50-year-old Darroze Armagnac, from the best crus, has aged in old oak barrels.

The Darroze selection, Les Grands Assemblages

For over 20 years, Marc Darroze has dedicated a lot of energy and passion to Armagnac. In contact with winegrowers, distillers, coopers, and Gascon breeders, Marc Darroze has been able to grasp all the diversity and nobility of our profession.

In the family home, the aging of his Armagnacs has become more precise, refined, and his expertise is now complete.

This 50-year-old Darroze Armagnac is available in a 70 cl bottle in a wooden box.

A lover of his South-West and its ancient tradition, this cult chef of Landes gastronomy initiated his son Francis to the culinary arts, great wines, and fine Gascon brandies. It is by cultivating this taste for tradition and authenticity that Francis Darroze, by traveling with his father, a knowledgeable and demanding oenophile, this famous terroir of Bas-Armagnac and by tasting hidden treasures in the depths of small estates, became a true discoverer of owner-produced Armagnacs.

The first discoveries date back to the 1950s & 60s
, then intensified from the 1970s with the construction of a cellar specifically dedicated to aging.

His son Marc, an oenologist by training, followed in his footsteps in 1996. Both complementary, both "treasure hunters," as Martine Nouet called them in her book "Eaux-de-vie : le guide," they have crisscrossed the Armagnac lands all these years in search of this liquid gold that they offer you.

Treasure hunters first of all by taste, but also to satisfy a loyal clientele in search of quality brandies, they were together discoverers of Armagnacs. Today, Marc Darroze alone oversees the company, Francis Darroze having taken a well-deserved active retirement. He continues the work of guardian, sometimes of initiated antiquarian by his father, to make these treasures accessible to us.

CAP Vintage is proud to offer you this excellent range of Darroze Armagnac and to accompany you in this discovery through this range and around Armagnac. Cap Vintage certifies the conformity, origin, and quality of this vintage Armagnac.
