For over 20 years, Marc Darroze has dedicated a lot of energy and passion to Armagnac. In contact with winegrowers, distillers, coopers and Gascon breeders, Marc Darroze has been able to understand all the diversity and nobility of our profession.
In the family home, the aging of his Armagnacs has become more precise, refined, and his expertise is now total.
This vintage Darroze Armagnac 1979 is available in a 70 cl bottle in a cardboard box.
A lover of his South-West and its centuries-old tradition, this cult chef of Landaise gastronomy initiated his son Francis to the culinary arts, fine wines, and exquisite Gascon brandies. It is by cultivating this taste for tradition and authenticity that Francis Darroze, exploring with his father, a connoisseur and demanding oenophile, the famous terroir of Bas-Armagnac and tasting hidden treasures in the depths of small estates, became a true discoverer of Armagnacs from various producers.
The first discoveries date back to the 1950s & 60s, then intensified from the 1970s with the construction of a cellar specifically dedicated to aging.
His son Marc, a trained oenologist, followed in his footsteps in 1996. Both complementary, both “treasure hunters,” as Martine Nouet called them in her book “Eaux-de-vie: le guide,” they have crisscrossed the lands of Armagnac for all these years in search of this liquid gold that they offer you.
Treasure hunters first by taste, but also to satisfy a loyal clientele looking for quality brandies, they were together discoverers of Armagnacs. Today, Marc Darroze alone oversees the business, Francis Darroze having taken a well-deserved active retirement. He continues the work of guardian, sometimes antique dealer, initiated by his father to make these treasures accessible to us.
