A lover of his South-West and its ancient tradition, this cult chef of Landes gastronomy initiated his son Francis to culinary art, great wines, and fine Gascon eaux-de-vie. It is by cultivating this taste for tradition and authenticity that Francis Darroze, exploring with his father, an experienced and demanding oenophile, this famous terroir of Bas-Armagnac and tasting treasures hidden deep within small estates, became a true discoverer of Armagnacs from individual producers.

The first discoveries date from the 1950s & 60s, then intensified from the 1970s with the construction of a cellar specifically dedicated to aging.

His son Marc Darroze, an oenologist by training, followed in his footsteps in 1996. Both complementary, both "treasure hunters", as Martine Nouet called them in her book "Eaux-de-vie: le guide", they have traveled the lands of Armagnac all these years in search of this liquid gold that they offer you.

Treasure hunters first out of taste, but also to satisfy a loyal clientele seeking quality eaux-de-vie, they were together discoverers of Armagnacs. Today, Marc Darroze alone oversees the company, Francis Darroze having taken a well-deserved active retirement. He continues the work of guardian, sometimes of initiated antique dealer by his father to make these treasures accessible to us.
