TASTING NOTES

For this 40-year-old Armagnac Darroze blend, the style of the Armagnac is definitively asserted. The quality of the oak wood used is very important, as the proper use of a quality barrel will bring complexity and finesse to the Armagnac, elements that can definitely be judged and appreciated after 40 years in contact with the wood.

Armagnac Darroze 40 years old - Les Grands Assemblages

This old 40-year-old Armagnac Darroze, made from the best crus, has aged in old oak barrels.

The Darroze selection, Les Grands Assemblages

For more than 20 years, Marc Darroze has dedicated a great deal of energy and passion to Armagnac. In contact with winegrowers, distillers, coopers, and Gascon breeders, Marc Darroze has been able to grasp all the diversity and nobility of our profession.

In the family home, the aging of his Armagnacs has become more precise and refined, and his expertise is now complete.

This 40-year-old Armagnac Darroze is offered in a 70 cl bottle in a cardboard box.

A lover of his South-West and its age-old tradition, this cult chef of Landes gastronomy initiated his son Francis to the culinary arts, to great wines, and to fine Gascon brandies. It was by cultivating this taste for tradition, for authenticity, that Francis Darroze, by touring with his father, a knowledgeable and demanding oenophile, this famous terroir of Bas-Armagnac and by tasting hidden treasures in the depths of small estates, became a true discoverer of owner-produced Armagnacs.

The first discoveries date back to the 1950s & 60s
, then intensified from the 1970s with the construction of a cellar specifically dedicated to aging.

His son Marc, a trained oenologist, followed in his footsteps in 1996. Both complementary, both "treasure hunters," as Martine Nouet called them in her book "Eaux-de-vie: le guide," they have crisscrossed the lands of Armagnac all these years in search of this liquid gold that they offer you.

Treasure hunters first out of taste, but also to satisfy a loyal clientele in search of quality brandies, they were together discoverers of Armagnacs. Today, Marc Darroze alone oversees the company, Francis Darroze having taken a well-deserved active retirement. He continues the work of guardian, sometimes of initiated antique dealer by his father, to make these treasures accessible to us.

CAP Vintage is proud to offer you this excellent Armagnac Darroze range and to accompany you in this discovery through this range and around Armagnac. Cap Vintage certifies the conformity, origin, and quality of this vintage Armagnac.
