With unique expertise in aging Banyuls, its range is exceptionally rich.
The vineyard is located at the extreme south of France, where the Pyrenees meet the Mediterranean. It is delimited by the 4 ports of Collioure, Port-Vendres, Banyuls-sur-Mer, and Cerbère. Its surface area is 1800 hectares. It is between sea and mountains that the vines cling to the steep slopes on schist soil. They are exclusively worked by hand.

Terroir of AOC Banyuls

At the eastern end of the Pyrenees, on the steep hillsides of the Côte Vermeille, old vines cultivated in terraces overlook the Mediterranean Sea. This is the setting of this exceptional terroir steeped in traditions. Banyuls is exclusively produced in the four communes that connect the last Pyrenean reliefs to the sea: Collioure, Port-Vendres, Banyuls-sur-Mer, and the border village of Cerbères.

The region benefits from an exceptional microclimate, an annual sunshine of more than 300 days, frequent and sometimes violent wind, rare rainfall, and direct maritime influence, which naturally leads to low yields.
