The Darroze selection, Les Grands Assemblages
For more than 20 years, Marc Darroze has dedicated a lot of energy and passion to Armagnac. In contact with winegrowers, distillers, coopers and Gascon breeders, Marc Darroze has been able to grasp all the diversity and nobility of our profession.
In the family home, the aging of his Armagnacs has become more precise, more refined, and his expertise is now complete.
This 60-year-old Darroze Armagnac is offered in a 70 cl bottle in a wooden box.
A lover of hisSouth-Westand its age-old tradition, this cult chef ofLandes gastronomyinitiatedhis son Francisto the culinary arts, to great wines, to fineGascon brandies. It is by cultivating this taste for tradition, for authenticity, thatFrancis Darroze, by traveling with his father, a knowledgeable and demanding oenophile, this famous terroir of Bas-Armagnac and by tasting treasures hidden deep within small estates, became a true discoverer of owner-produced Armagnacs.
The first discoveries date back to the 50s & 60s, then intensified from the 1970s with the construction of a cellar specifically dedicated to aging.
His son Marc, an oenologist by training, followed in his footsteps in 1996. Both complementary, both"treasure hunters", as Martine Nouet called them in her book "Eaux-de-vie: le guide", they have crisscrossed the lands of Armagnac all these years in search of this liquid gold that they offer you.
Treasure hunters first out of taste, but also to satisfya loyal clientele looking for quality brandies, they were together discoverers of Armagnacs. Today,Marc Darrozealone oversees the company, Francis Darroze having taken a well-deserved active retirement. He continues the work of guardian, sometimes antique dealer, initiated by his father to make these treasures accessible to us.
