Armagnac Darroze
Vintage Bas Armagnacs selected by Francis and Marc Darroze from the best Gascon terroirs — Unique Cask Strength Collection and Grand Blends, from vintages 1918 to the present day.
The Darroze Family Story: From Restaurant to Armagnac
The adventure began with Jean Darroze, whose legendary restaurant in Villeneuve-de-Marsan showcased the cuisine of the Landes region. His son Francis Darroze, introduced to fine wines and brandies, developed a passion for Bas Armagnacs and quickly became a recognized expert on the appellation's best terroirs. Starting in the 1950s-1960s, he assembled a comprehensive collection of Bas Armagnacs, chosen for their finesse and aromatic richness.
A Cellar Built to Master the Aging Process
In the early 70s, Francis built a cellar to personally control the quality of the aging process. Since 1996, his son Marc Darroze, a trained oenologist, has continued this pursuit of excellence with the same exacting standards: authenticity, terroir, and absolute quality.
The Unique Collection: Vintage Cask Strength
The Unique Collection offers Cask Strength Bas Armagnacs, with a range of fifty vintages, the oldest of which date back to 1918. Each bottle corresponds to a harvest year, aged at natural proof without reduction.
The Great Blends: The Art of Gascon Blending
The Great Blends combine several Grand Crus from Bas Armagnac in cuvées ranging from 8 to 60 years old. A complementary approach that reveals the complexity and depth of the Gascon terroirs carefully blended by Marc Darroze.
