Brut de Fût en Armagnac

Cask Strength Armagnac

Pierre Dagnac

Cask Strength Armagnac, definition

'Cask Strength' Armagnacs are unreduced eaux-de-vie: no water is added to lower the alcohol content.

No sugar or coloring is added. They are aged in new oak barrels and sold at their natural aging strength.

This is the policy decided for Domaine de Charron Armagnacs, using the natural aging strength, 'Cask Strength' for the vintage Armagnacs offered.

Their armagnacs are the fruit of the passionate work of the owner-harvester: vine cultivation, winemaking, distillation, and aging are all carried out by them.

Domaine de Charron, the best example?

The history of Domaine de Charron began at the start of the last century in Perquie in the Landes region, on the vineyard plots of Jacques and Claude Lartigue's great-grandmother. From these vines, planted entirely with the Baco grape variety, wine was made and sold to the cooperative, and it was not uncommon for a few batches of armagnac to be produced depending on the year.

It was in 1985, when their father Fernand expressed his wish to uproot these Baco vines, that Jacques and his brother Claude decided to acquire these 2-hectare plots to relaunch armagnac production. The vine work was entrusted to the neighboring winegrower, which allowed for the immediate production of a high-quality natural wine thanks to his expertise.

As Domaine de Charron is located on exceptional terroir, every effort was made to produce a high-quality armagnac. The skill of the best distillers from Villeneuve-de-Marsan, systematic aging in new barrels for each new harvest, and a carefully chosen cellar allowed them to achieve the desired quality objective.

All Armagnacs from Domaine de Charron are offered as cask strength Armagnac, naturally!
