La Blanche d’Armagnac

White Armagnac

Pierre Dagnac

Blanche d'Armagnac, the white spirit of tomorrow!

Blanche d'Armagnac: a young Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée

Definition: It is a wine brandy whose terroir coincides with that of the Armagnac appellation, a white spirit, not aged, which is particularly aromatic with fruity and floral notes.

It is traditionally sold at 40% alcohol, although it is distilled at much higher levels, between 55 and 64%, depending on the producer and the still used.

Its certification, which is carried out by batch, is ensured by the Armagnac Defence and Management Organisation, which annually validates the product after tasting.

The Terroir of Blanche d'Armagnac

This terroir corresponds to that of the AOC Armagnac, here is its map spread over 3 departments: the Landes, Lot-et-Garonne and Gers.

The Haut-Armagnac Region

Haut Armagnac represents only two percent of the total area of the AOC Armagnac.

The Armagnac Ténarèze Region

Ténarèze represents twenty-eight percent of the area of the AOC Armagnac.

The Bas-Armagnac Region

Bas-Armagnac is the main production region, corresponding to seventy percent of the cultivated area for Armagnac.

Blanche d'Armagnac... Cocktail Option

The greatest potential of Blanche d'Armagnac is undoubtedly its development in the world of cocktails. Like white rums, vodka, gin, tequila, mezcal and other Pisco (the South American cousin), its taste and aromatic qualities are increasingly appealing.

Concretely, Blanche d'Armagnac can now "replace" most of the white spirits previously presented in the most classic cocktails.

More characteristic than a Vodka, which is much more neutral by nature, its contribution is a real plus for the connoisseur of subtleties in the glass.

Try a Blanche d'Armagnac Mojito, it's very simple to make and the result is amazing.

The most sophisticated mixologists are having fun creating with Blanche. I advise you to follow the creations of Emmanuel Brandelet, ambassador of Armagnac Jean Cavé.

On his Instagram, you will find his latest explorations, as well as recipes that he wants to be accessible to everyone. He is a passionate advocate of Blanche d'Armagnac who contributes to its dissemination.
